Born on November 20: Gail Ann Dorsey, in the shadow of the greats

We know that she was born in Philadelphia in 1962, but it was on the West Coast that she began her training... in film! Gail Ann has always liked to surprise the world.

At the age of 14, she acquired a bass guitar, apparently as a birthday present. At the time, however, it was guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix, Mark Farmer of Grand Funk Railroad and Nancy Wilson, one of the two (Canadian) sisters in the group known as Heart, who served as her models. After settling in London, she multiplied her collaborations and patiently made her way, offering her talents as both an instrumentalist and a singer. Anne Pigalle and Boy George, for example, offered her the opportunity to play second fiddle to them. In the end, much like the Belgian Nicolas Fiszman, Gail Ann thrives in the shadows.

RC satin paper 250 grams

The photosensitive emulsion is coated on a polyethylene support called RC (Resin Coated) which makes this paper particularly resistant to handling and stable over time.

The print is made from the digital file on real silver photo paper. The Durst Lambda imager uses paper with silver emulsion. The transfer is made directly from the digital file, by exposing the photosensitive support with red, green, and blue laser beams. The paper is then developed in a chemical process, washed and dried. This technology guarantees very high-quality productions and a traditional photographic rendering.

The RC satin paper 230 grams is only available for the format 24 X 30 cm.

Hahnemühle baryta paper 315 grams

The baryta silver paper is a paper on a thick cardboard support, covered with a sensitive emulsion and a layer of barium sulfate (or baryte). It is this mineral which allows the whiteness of the paper and its exceptional durability.

After the Folies Bergère and theZenith de La Villette, -M- is planning to take over another venue in the capital. This time, the French artist, who needs no introduction, plans to perform on the huge stage of theAccor Arena in Paristhree times: on Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd June 2023.

The occasion for -M- to defend live his last opus entitled"Rêvalité" (release on June 3rd, 2022). Accompanied by Gail Ann Dorsey (musician of David Bowie and Lenny Kravitz), Matthieu Chedid invites us to dream in reality thanks to new compositions always so neat and successful. These compositions will be played at theAccor Arena in Paris at the beginning of June 2023.
