Dave Dombrowski Biography
Dave Dombrowski is currently the president of baseball operations for the Philadelphia Phillies. He has a resume as one of the most successful executives of his generation. He previously had tremendous success after being named the president of baseball operations for the Boston Red Sox in 2015. During his tenure in Boston, the Red Sox won three straight American League East Division titles and the 2018 World Series. Dombrowski spent the previous 14 seasons with the Detroit Tigers. In that time, the Tigers went to the playoffs five times and won four straight American League Central Division championships. Detroit went to the World Series in 2006 and 2012. HIring manager Jim Leyland was arguably Dombrowski's biggest move with the Tigers. He had previously hired Leyland while he was the Florida Marlins general manager. Dombrowski was the first GM in the Marlins history. He was hired in 1991 and oversaw all moves for the expansion franchise. Phillies president Dave Dombrowski gets 3-year extension
The Phillies signed president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski to a three-year contract extension Tuesday.
With the extension, Dombrowski is signed through the 2027 season.
The Phillies advanced to the World Series this past season, Dombrowski's second with the franchise. The postseason appearance ended a 10-year drought for the Phillies, who qualified for a wild-card spot with an 87-75 record and enjoyed a surprising run to the World Series before falling to the Astros in six games.
