Ruen Brothers is British siblings duo of Henry (aka 'En) and Rupert (aka Ru') Stansall from Scunthorpe. Emerging in 2013, the duo won fans young and old with their sound reminiscent of Roy Orbison and The Everly Brothers.
As youngsters, the brothers found their “punk rocker” dad’s record collection comprised of everything from Muddy Waters and Van Morrison to The Sex Pistols. By the ages of eleven and twelve they were gigging at local pubs and clubs, covering tunes the audience would always know by Orbison, Chuck Berry, and more. Following college, they moved into a studio apartment in London dedicated to making a career out of music.
Emerging in London in 2013 with their rockabilly-tinged single "Aces," the brothers caught the attention of Republic Records. From there, they moved to the States, where they recorded their 2015 debut EP, Point Dume . Produced by Rick Rubin, the tracks featured Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith on drums, Chavez’s Matt Sweeney on guitar, and Ian McLagan (of Faces) on keyboards.

“People ask if we’re intimidated by the music industry,” says Henry Stansall with a laugh. “I think if they’d seen some of the gigs we’ve played, they wouldn’t be asking that question.”
Along with younger sibling Rupert (22), Henry (23) has taken The Ruen Brothers from some of North Lincolnshire’s more insalubrious drinking dens to acclaim from tastemaking figures like Rick Rubin and Radio One’s Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Alice Levine.
Good things have come easily to the Scunthorpe duo since their track, ‘Aces’, was posted online in January this year. And well it might, since the song’s marriage of Stones-y R&B with heart-stopping, Roy Orbison theatrics sounds remarkably fully formed in a band so young.
