Enos Stanley “Stan” Kroenke was born in 1947 in a small rural community near Mora, Missouri—population 23. His mother chose the name Stanley as an homage to her English roots. His full name was also in part a tribute to Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial— legends on the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
