Thomas James Tune[1] (28 Şubat 1939 doğumlu) Amerikalı aktör, dansçı, şarkıcı, tiyatro yönetmeni, yapımcı ve koreograftır. Kariyeri boyunca, Ulusal Sanat Madalyası olan on Tony Ödülü kazandı ve Hollywood Walk of Fame'de yıldız almıştır.
Gençliği

Tune, Wichita Falls, Teksas'ta petrol kulesi işçisi, at eğitmeni ve lokantacı Jim Tune ve Eva Mae Clark'ın kız kardeşi Gracey ile birlikte doğdu. Houston, Mirabeau B. Lamar Lisesi ve Teksas Jacksonville'dekiMetodist bağlantılı Lon Morris Koleji'ne okudu. Houston'da Patsy Swayze ile dans eğitimi aldı.[2] Ayrıca Boulder, Colorado'da Kit André ile dans eğitimi aldı. 1962'de Austin'deki Texas Üniversitesi'nden Drama Güzel Sanatlar Lisans derecesini ve Houston Üniversitesi'nden Yönetmenlik alanında Güzel Sanatlar Yüksek Lisansını almaya devam etti. Tune daha sonra kariyerine başlamak için New York'a taşındı.[3]

Tommy Tune is an American actor, dancer, singer, theatre director, producer, choreographer and a celebrated song & dance man. Over the course of his career, he has won ten Tony Awards, the National Medal of Arts and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In 1965, Tune made his Broadway debut as a performer in the musical Baker Street. His first Broadway directing and choreography credits were for the original production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas in 1978. His direction of Nine The Musical in 1982, which also won the Tony for Best Musical, garnered him his first Tony for direction of a musical. He has gone on to direct and/or choreograph eight Broadway musicals. He directed a new musical titled Turn of the Century, which premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago on September 19, 2008 and closed on November 2, 2008.
Off-Broadway, Tune has directed The Club and Cloud Nine. Tune toured the United States in the Sherman Brothers musical Busker Alley in 1994–1995, and in the stage adaptation of the film Dr. Dolittle in 2006.

Tommy Tune, the six foot six tap dancer, choreographer, musical director, and actor is the recipient of nine Tony Awards in four different categories. Other accolades include eight Drama Desk Awards, two Obie Awards, and two Fred Astaire Awards. Tune garnered his first Tony for Best Featured Actor in Michael Bennett's Seesaw. He received directing honors for The Club, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Nine. For Grand Hotel and The Will Rogers Follies, Tune received Best Choreography and Best Direction of a Musical, the only artist to garner both awards in two succeeding years. Among his other noted productions is My One and Only co-starring Twiggy. His Hollywood appearances include Hello, Dolly! with Barbra Streisand and Ken Russell's The Boy Friend. In Houston, Texas the Tommy Tune Award recognizes excellence in high school musical theater.
