Dr. Wesley has a broad set of professional experiences, including portfolio management and strategic human capital management. He is an accomplished military leader, business professional, and an accomplished scholar in strategic management and entrepreneurship who has dedicated his life to the service of others.
As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, he began his military career as a Naval Flight Officer, managing people and processes to ensure the operational readiness of a 250-person aviation squadron. He returned to his alma mater as marketing director for minority outreach, where his team established new performance standards in diversity recruitment. As a senior Naval Officer, Dr. Wesley served as a human capital strategist for the Bureau of Naval Personnel, Navy Recruiting Command, and the Selective Service System.

The other day, I received a book I ordered, And That's Not All, a memoir by the English actress Joan Plowright, who was married to Laurence Olivier. I had wanted to read it simply because I admired her and was curious about her life with the celebrated actor and director. But it turned out that she was a good friend of Edna O'Brien's. The great Irish novelist is the subject of my forthcoming biography, Fearless, which is now in proof, nearly ready to be printed.
The two women met for dinner in 1977, when Edna published her novel Johnny I Hardly Knew You. Plowright recalled that she "was always sensitive to mood and atmosphere and ready to discuss anything with the utmost candour." Edna's candour was on display when she remarked that the Plowright–Olivier family (all three children were also actors) needed to become more open to conversations about their feelings, rather than only about aspects of the theatre.

Early life, playing career and education
Curtis was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 21, 1989. He attended St. Mary's Christian Brothers Grammar School.
In his youth, Curtis played as a central midfielder or winger for Lisburn Youth and attended Manchester United's Academy from the ages of 9 to 15. Following his release from Manchester United, Colum made the move to Notts County in 2008, where he stayed for one season before returning to Belfast after the club was facing financial difficulty. Colum began coaching at his local grassroots club Immaculata F.C.
