Music is a purist form of art. Moreover it is the most essential part of all the cultures on this earth. It's expression by human being and by instruments has been continued since the dawn of human evolution. This medium of expression is also found here and that is Nazir Ahmad Music Society. The society was founded somewhere in 1930's but with the name of "Culture Club". later it was revived in 1950's named as "Music Society" by Dr. Nazir Ahmed the former principal and professor of zoology. After his death in late 1980's, it was named as "Nazir Ahmad Music Society".
Objectives of NAMS
The main objective of this training is to polish these students and to make them little bit professional in this field of music along with their academics. Often they are provided an opportunity to perform in many functions/programme of GC University. Experience of these performances builds their confidence to perform at any forum and platform. So, the moment these student leave GC University, they have with them, an option of career.

Musarrat Nazir
Film actress and singer (born 1940)
Musarrat Nazir Khawaja (Urdu: مسرت نذیر; born 13 October 1940) is a Pakistani singer and film actress, who acted in many Urdu and Punjabi films.[3] She is also known as The Silver Screen's Sparkling Star and is recognized for her role in Cinema of Pakistan during the 1950s and 1960s.[1] Many years later, she also sang solo, mostly wedding and folk songs.[4]
Early life
Her parents were a middle-class family of Kashmiri origin from Lahore.[5] Her father Khwaja Nazir Ahmed, worked as a registered contractor in LahoreMunicipal Corporation.[5][4] Early in her life, her parents wanted her to be a doctor, and provided her with the best possible education they could afford. Musarrat passed the matriculation examination (10th grade) with distinction and passed the intermediate examination (12th grade) from Kinnaird College in Lahore.[5][4]

She had keen interest in music and began singing for Radio Pakistan in the early 1950s.

Mussarat Abbas
Mussarat Abbas (Urdu: مسرت عبّاس, Devanāgarī: मुसरत अब्बास) (born in 1982) is a Pakistani singer and was a finalist on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 in which he attained 6th place with public votes.
Biography
Early years
Abbas has been singing since the age of 10. Although he never received professional training, he was inspired by Ghulam Ali to take up singing. By practicing at home, Mussarat improved his singing techniques and continued to win singing competitions in his hometown of Lahore. Abbas attended Punjab University in Lahore, Pakistan. Currently he is doing Masters in TV & Film Studies from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore [1]
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007
Mussarat was chosen to be in Himesh Reshammiya's Rock gharana after his first performance on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. He instantly caused an argument after performing "Main Jahaan Rahoon", amongst judges Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya over whether or not he should sing in one genre.
